Registration
A one time non-refundable registration fee of $20 per student is required at time of registration. A new registration fee will be required if a student withdraws from lessons and registers again at a later time. (unless arranged with school director)
Tuition
Payment must be made by pre-authorized automatic monthly withdrawal. Tuition will be debited from your bank account or charged to your credit card on the 3rd or 17th day of each month. The 1st month is non-refundable. Payments are not accepted for in-person payments on a monthly basis. All charges will appear on your bank statement or credit card statement as being from J. Oscar School of Music. You also have the option of paying for the semester in full. (cash or check only)
Withdrawal and Refunds
One-month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue lessons. Withdrawal must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawal must be done at the school front desk and not with the teacher. Withdrawal must occur within the first seven days of the month. To withdraw from lessons a parent or adult student must:

1. Inform school administration in person
2. Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the school (front desk)
All automatic bank debiting or credit card charges will stop at the end of the one-month notice period. J. Oscar School of Music reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students without notice. In such a case a refund for unused lessons will be given.
Recitals
A student must be enrolled and actively involved in lessons for one full semester before he or she can perform in a recital. After one semester a student will be allowed to participate unless the individual instructor feels they are still not ready and needs a little more time.
Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes
If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be added on to the end of the semester. No refunds or credits for lessons missed due to these reasons will be given.
Substitutions
The school will provide a substitute teacher if the regularly schedules teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach the lesson. If a teacher is not available and the school cannot arrange for a substitute, the missed class will be made up and will not count toward the two make-ups allowed. (no refunds or credits will be given)
Make-up Lessons
Make-up lessons are limited to 2 per semester. There will be scheduled times throughout the semester for make-up lessons. The student or parent must call the school in order to cancel a lesson. If no phone call is received, there will not be a make-up lesson given as that will be considered a no-show. No refunds or credits will be given for missed lessons. School activities such as band trips, Spring Break, sports games, etc. do not qualify for money back or rescheduling.
