A one time non-refundable registration fee of $20 per student is required at time of registration. A new registration fee will be required if a student withdraws from lessons and registers again at a later time. (unless arranged with school director)
Payment must be made by pre-authorized automatic withdrawal. Tuition will be debited from a bank account or charged to a credit card on
the 3rd day of each month. Payments are not accepted in-person at the front desk on a monthly basis. The first month is non-refundable.
All charges will appear on your bank statement or credit card statement as being from J. Oscar School of Music. You also have the option of paying tuition by the semester. (cash or check only)
Students will be assessed a $20 NSF fee for insufficient funds if a payment does not process on the tuition due date. Students will also not be allowed to continue lessons until tuition and all fees are paid in full. Any lessons missed due to an outstanding balance, will be forfeited
Withdrawal and Refunds
One month notice is required for a student to discontinue lessons. Withdrawal must be done at the school front desk and not with the instructor.
To withdraw from lessons a parent or adult student must:
1. Inform school administration/staff
2. Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the school(front desk)
All automatic bank debiting and/or credit card charges will stop at the end of the one-month notice. J. Oscar School of Music
reserves the right to terminate lessons to any student without notice. In such a case a refund for unused lessons will be given.
A student must be enrolled and actively involved in lessons for one full semester before he or she can perform in a recital. After one semester a student will be allowed to participate unless an instructor feels they are not ready and needs more time.
Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes
If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be added on to the end of the semester. No refunds or credits for lessons missed due to these reasons will be given.
The school will provide a substitute teacher if the regularly schedules teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach the lesson. If the school cannot arrange for a substitute, the class will be made up and will not count toward the two make-ups allowed. (no refunds or credits will be given)
Make-up lessons are limited to 2 per semester. There will be scheduled times throughout the semester for make-up lessons with your instructor. The student or parent must call /email the school within 24hrs in order to cancel a lesson. If no phone call or email is received within 24 hrs, there will not be a make-up lesson given. No refunds or credits are given for missed lessons. Activities such as band trips, spring break, games, vacations, etc. do not qualify for money back or rescheduling.
